Let’s hope it doesn’t stumble and fall, by properly paving paths that connects people.

Errrm, errrm, I’m gonna turn off my WiFi and BT connection while watching it. Whales.

That’s was definitely his end goal when he started cozying up with Guillermo del Toro and other people with short lines to Hollywood

The Monster product placement was tone deaf and took away so much from the immersion. IMHO it almost ruined the experience.

Fragile, but not that fragile, samantha AmERicA strand, almost everything Diehardman says…

i love the gameplay, but Kojimas writing is seriously getting more and more cringey, and not enough to be a cult like Tommy Wiseau, he neeeds editors

Thats his trademark. I dont want to play a game where all of his wacky crazy ideas get sanitized in the name of having mass appeal.

You think modern audiences can look past his hilariously terrible character names?

Yeah IMO the more famous and respected Kojima has gotten, the worse his writing has been. And I think you’ve hit the nail on the head, he badly needs editors. I think it’s kind of like George Lucas in that they have a lot of ideas, some of which are really good and some of which are absolutely batshit. Sometimes those types of writers need someone who can ground them and tell them that they don’t have to put all of their ideas in.

Exactly, and its a shame because his ideas are really good. Even his earlier campy writing ( Ocelot encounters in MGS3 were so over the top but so good ) had its charm.

All I can hear is infant screaming.
The premise was good, but that ruined the game for me. Same as Yoshi’s Island. Infant screaming.

It’s a contemplative movie about a guy and him never having met his father, having a child of his own and traveling across a destroyed world and seeing how the survivors cope.

The sci fi stuff is just a layer over it, if they can make the themes and symbolism work

I hope they don’t ruin it, but I find myself cautiously optimistic.

    • Since Kojima is involved, I think there will be an attempt to do it well, not just a low effort cash grab
    • The Last Of Us TV series shows that these adaptations can be good.
