Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Her wonder every time she is exploring the poisoned areas that everyone else is afraid to enter still gets me.
Do you need to use Elmer’s glue so it doesn’t slide off?

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

A7thStone@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do people insist on not answering ALL the questions in an email or text message?32·1 month agoI haven’t done it very often, but the few times I haven’t answered all off the questions in an email has been because some of the questions are a waste of time. I had an engineer recently ask me if I could move the location of where I was running a pipe through a floor grating. Changing the location would have changed nothing, made my job more difficult, and would have been a tripping hazard. All off this could have been avoided if they had gotten or from behind their desk and just gone and looked at what I was working on in person. I ignored their question and sent more pictures of the area. They finally said that I was good to proceed with my original plan.
I haven’t had issues for about a decade. I haven’t had an nvidia card for about a decade either. I think the two may be connected.

RCA, Westinghouse, and Zenith used to be big American TV manufacturers. Westinghouse and zenith were the cheaper brands, but RCA used to make some high end models.
