You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: you can stop Microsoft users from sending 'reactions' to your email by adding a "x-ms-reactions: disallow" header
123·5 days agoI’m not sure what you even want then. If an email can’t be delivered you should get a kickback notifications saying it can’t be delivered. Though, that may depend on the email service.
Ans if you’re effectively looking for a read-receipt, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want to be notified of it. I don’t want to have to manually check anything to see if there is new information to look at. An email may be overkill, but 🤷.

Privacy@programming.dev•Governor Newsom signs bills to further strengthen California’s leadership in protecting children online
82·6 days agoWell, that’s disappointing.
EDIT: Actually, this is atrocious. I’m so fucking tired of being force fed shit in the name of “think of the children.” I don’t live in California but it’s pretty bad precedent.

Technology@lemmy.world•China solves 'century-old problem' with new analog chip that is 1,000 times faster than high-end Nvidia GPUsEnglish
2358·6 days agoIt uses 1% of the energy but is still 1000x faster than our current fastest cards? Yea, I’m calling bullshit. It’s either a one off, bullshit, or the next industrial revolution.
EDIT: Also, why do articles insist on using ##x less? You can just say it uses 1% of the energy. It’s so much easier to understand.

4·7 days agoUhh, isn’t this just turning them into dumb thermostats? It says you can’t control it via phone. Not that it stops working altogether.
No I’m… doesn’t
I’d like to say I did but this was like 8 years ago. I don’t remember. Only reason I think I must have replied all is because if I only replied to the sender, I’d know who has no sense of humor.
Actually, I rarely delete my emails. I wonder if it’s still archived.
EDIT: I FOUND IT!! It was just under 10 years ago. It wasn’t company wide, just to our building. It was the image, not just text. And I did reply to everyone in the thread. 3 people responded to me and said it was funny. No one complained in the thread.
You want me to do 2 things?
Bender, stop trying to blow up the world.
I used this at work one time. Someone complained about it and I was told not to do it again.
It felt very appropriate because someone sent out a company wide email talking about a potluck. Then shortly after, they sent out another one saying that was meant for their department, that I wasn’t in.
You should say something else.
Yes, I saw. You were doing well until everyone died.
In fact, forget the park.
