Wow what a way to depict them! Also, “cephalophoric” sounds like the saints are part octopus 😅

The idea behind such a depiction is that those saints were killed when their heads were cut off. So it was decided that they would be honoured to be traditionally presented like that in painting. There are no less than 134 such saints.

“Deez”, likely a derivative of Latin “Deus”. They were clearly a god fearing people!

That last “if” is a big one. Most of the time these relationships aren’t as clear headed and well thought out as you’re hoping they are. Hurt feelings are the norm, and hurt feelings of powerful people lead to revenge.

I used to be the type to want to consider a variety of opinions and play devil’s advocate. The last decade has radicalized me into being much more staunchly progressive. Stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything.

It’s an easy trap to fall into if you’re a generally open minded person I think. I didn’t want to follow the herd, and I didn’t want to take things at face value. Those aren’t bad ideals, but when living in a corrupt and dishonest world it basically means giving too much space to people who aren’t worth it.

Simple to say, not so simple to do. I’d love to honestly.

I’m not enough of an expert to explain it better, but I remember reading about a guy who came on board with google, and took over search. He had an initiative to keep people on google longer. That’s my memory of it at least.

In the case of google they purposely made it worse so that people spent more time on their site rather than other sites. This means they see more ads from google as opposed to ads on another website. They’ve just doubled down on this with AI summaries, too. Now they just blatantly take content from websites so you don’t have to go to the website that made it at all.

I guess it’s not surprising that this is also a google thing, but gmail’s. No matter what I type in it shows me my entire inbox practically. It’s so fuzzy it’s completely useless.

Best we can do is put another one somewhere else

Druidstone! It’s a really great indie tactical RPG. Very fun and I never hear anyone talk about it.

This is kind of an apathy echo chamber tbh (not just here, other socials too). Out in the real world lots of people are trying very hard to improve things all around the globe. If you’re feeling depressed by perceived apathy I would encourage you to look into organizations working to make a difference. They’re out there and need your help.

I was pretty ambivalent about the subscription. I don’t like subs in general, but I joined stellaris a little late and the amount of money to get all the DLC is very daunting. I can see how as a new player it would be a good offer.

That being said rent to own is always going to be how it should be imo.

Oof, yeah that performance point is rough.

Stellaris is such an interesting game to follow. I’ve never seen another game so willing to change major stuff regularly. It’s definitely got its upsides and downsides.
