I don’t have those issues you’re having. It’s possible you’re using the wrong settings on your display (easy mistake to make; proper HDR configuration is difficult, even for enthusiasts), or your display just isn’t very good at HDR. So many monitors and TVs are terrible at it.

More like 240p lol. In most modern single player games games, my 4090 can’t maintain a steady 120 FPS at 4K, even with DLSS Performance (which at 4K is upscaling from 1080p).

So either Nvidia made a special version of DLSS for the Switch 2 that is more extreme than DLSS Ultra Performance (which is going to look like shit on a giant 4K TV), or Nintendo is just straight-up lying. I’m banking on the latter.

Are you sure about that? After seeing the specs of the Switch 2, I’m convinced that Nintendo put the weakest hardware they possibly could get away with putting in a modern gaming device. I mean Nintendo literally lied and said that it could run games at 120 FPS, when a 4090 can’t even do that with literally 10x more CUDA cores.

I mean I believe you, but are you certain that it’s actually more powerful than a Steam Deck? Regardless, it doesn’t matter because Steam Deck 2 is on the way. Just buy that one when it comes out (or stick to desktop gaming like me if you don’t need to game on the go.) Nobody needs a Switch 2.

You do realize that you are allowed to read the article, right? Cause if you did, you would have noticed the picture of the setup in the article, along with a basic description of it.

1. It doesn’t work properly (desaturates colors instead of making them appear more saturated)
2. No support for RTX HDR, so if your video/game doesn’t have native HDR support, you’re playing it in SDR. Which is a deal-breaker for me because even converted content looks far superior to SDR.

1. I don’t go on vacation to work. I go on vacation to relax. The work phone stays off while I’m away from home.
2. I work afternoons, so on an average workday I go to bed around 3:30-4:30a and get up around noon. I would never work a job that requires me to get up before then. The only people who get up in the morning are old people, workaholics, and people with kids. I am none of these.

Yeah but HDR monitors have been mainstream for over a decade now. What’s taking so long? I’m tired of Windows, but I’m not fully switching to Linux until they sort this shit. That includes adding support for RTX HDR and RTX Video Enhancement.

Never even saw it. I got too burned out by all the shitty sequels and spinoffs that I gave up on the Star Wars franchise long before that show came out. Solo, Obi Wan, and the Mandalorian were so god damn boring!
