Cyborganism@lemmy.cato Fediverse@lemmy.world•Do you use other federated software besides Lemmy (e.g. Mastodon/Pixelfed/etc.), if so which?English12·2 days agoI use Mastodon and Pixelfed mainly. But I also have an account on Friendica and Loops.video, but I rarely use them. And does Matrix count?
Oh and I forgot about Funkwhale for putting your music collection online.
Well they could’ve picked a distro that’s not backed by an American comptant as a base. I mean OpenSUSE is right there. Or Debian, which is maintained by a global community with a social contact, a constitution and global guidelines, which are all about keeping Debian open, free and secure.
EU Linux is based on Fedora?
That’s disappointing.

I’m going to assume you asked someone to do the work but you weren’t willing to pay the price for their time to do the amount of work you’re asking, so they refused.
No offense but that sounds like a hell of a project with a lot of technical challenges. Why can’t you do it yourself?
If you think it’s not that big of a project, maybe you could post some specs and more details about your device? And let people here tell you if it’s feasible or not.

The Job options has the following:

As you can see, even when I select borderless, margins are still there. And I can’t set them all to 0. If I try, I still get two margins that I can’t set to 0.
As someone else mentioned, this could be a driver problem. I’m gonna try installing the CUPS driver instead of the manufacturer provided one.

Cyborganism@lemmy.cato Linux@programming.dev•I am really considering moving from Arch to Fedora. What's your experience with this?21·10 days agoI experienced it back in the early 2000s before Yum. I used CentOS recently and it really isn’t as bad as it used to be.
I don’t know how people find themselves in dependency hell nowadays. It takes an effort to break things.

I am using proprietary Canon drivers provided from their support website. So I guess the official one in Linux doesn’t support it somehow?

This looks old. Is it still maintained?
EDIT: I installed it and tried setting up my printer but it says it cannot use that driver. So that’s a no go I suppose.
Got offered interviews at Raytheon and Lockheed once. Said no immediately. Can’t have a good conscience working for these companies.
