  • If you want to keep narrowing it down. You should go to the next step … a brand new clean OS on a dedicated laptop. Install a new Linux OS, new browser, new profile, do absolutely nothing with any of it, set up a VPN, try the site again.

If that fails, then chances are the ID is being done some other way … do you have control of your router? Are you accessing the internet through someone’s connection? maybe your ISP and your general area, regardless of who is using VPN.

The other possibility is … Are you tethering on a phone? I notice that phone devices seem to play loose with VPN and due to geolocation built into the device tagged to wifi locating services, phones leak location all the time.

  • The other thing that’s been creeping into everyone’s system is … browser fingerprinting

This means that if you accessed something somewhere sometime and you got flagged or located, your browser stores key identifying data, history, cookies, etc to basically fingerprint your browser to any and all systems out there in the future. If your browser goes somewhere again, it won’t matter if you have a VPN, the online systems remember your browser and will identify you, your location and your history because they’ve already logged all that data.

If you keep using that same browser with the same profile over and over again, and with all your other accounts, history and user info, it’s like driving in the same car day in / day out. Eventually everyone remembers you because you keep driving the same car. It won’t matter what kind of VPN, cloaking or obfuscation you use … all everyone will do is look for the same car you drove last time.

Try setting up a new profile on Firefox/LibreWolf or other browser on a clean unused profile and try again to see what happens.

  • Might help all of us understand this if you told us what your general location is? Which country? Which state? Which region?

Obviously don’t dox yourself … but giving a general location will tell us which regions are actively enforcing all this.

Also … are you using a VPN … because if you are then …

    • your VPN is accessing the network at a region that does age verification
    • your VPN is being bypassed or not working properly or your system is leaking your IP and location
    • the network, website or system doesn’t allow users through VPN

  • In 2000, at around the point when most well off people were transitioning to flat panel TVs, I inherited a large 32" CRT from a friend of mine. They were upgrading and wanted to get rid of their old CRT.

I said I’d take it and use it for my treadmill so I could watch TV while I walked.

The thing weighed 100lbs!!! I had to build a reinforced stand to lift it up in the air and I nearly killed myself hoisting it up and having it nearly fall on me multiple times! And the thing took up so much room … I think it occupied almost the same amount of floor space as the treadmill.

The dangerous thing about these things is that they were big and lopsided … it’s like lifting a huge kettle ball but all the weight of the ball is only on one side and the rest of it is empty air. It was really easy to just drop the thing because you lost balance with it. Or even worse, throw your back and some muscle because you were trying to save it from falling over while you held it.

  • Here’s a condensed version of all the books …

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

Just because they have mandatory French in Canada … doesn’t mean that people go on to learn the language. I’m in northern Ontario among a lot of Francophones. Lots of people went through school around me that had French but they went through the programs and never bothered to learn beyond that and then forgot it all as adults because their families looked down at the French language and French culture.

Many people don’t get to go to post secondary school unless you or your family have a bit of wealth … so they don’t bother learning another language for any reason. So being poor and from an anglocentric culture that looks down at other enthnicities usually ends up with people not learning or wanting to learn another language.

The sad part is that I’m Indigenous Canadian … my first language is Ojibway/Cree, it was the first language I learned and spoke fluently until I was about ten years of age - I learned English in school but it was more or less a foreign language to me until later in life. The sad part is that this was all about 40 years ago and now the majority of people being born into my family almost all of them speak only English and know little of our Ojibway language.

When you are poor and don’t have the means … you almost have no choice but to get stuck in one language because you don’t have the time, energy or resources to have the luxury to learn another language and poverty has the double edged sword of taking away any language you or your family already had.
