The meme is “science guy doing science”

The joke is that the DC in “Washington DC” also stands for “Direct Current.” Direct Current is usually stable in a circuit.

What our Punny scientist did is make Washington “Alternating Current.” By creating an oscillating image of the Washington DC buildings.

It’s a very funny shitpost for electronic nerds.

  • Choom, you gotta remember any Edgerunner know they’re gonna flatline young.

Most people get chipped to perform their job, which is basically to barely survive a corpo life. Some have chrome for medical reasons. Most people don’t wanna be a chrome jock anyway, with cyberpsychosis and all.

Also, ripperdocs are the closest thing to medical attention proles can afford. And I suspect with the jack they make they can afford actual medical care.

  • There’s a theory in my family.

You have true farmers, then you have factory farms. Factory Farms are not just for animals. They exclusively produce cash crop, they exclusively optimize profit, they also do hardly any of the work themselves. They’ll be in a combine, sure. But combines are quite literally automatic nowadays, so it becomes a second office where they’re negotiated deals and labor and contracts and taxes.

The true farmers on the other hand? Way back when, before Monsanto and Tyson, farm communities took care of specific jobs for specific farms because one of those farmers found a really good way to do it, or is just much more efficient.

That left a little more time for each of the farmers to work on something they were skilled with, or do a hobby even.

Guess what was a popular hobby amongst farmers? Electric Scale Trains. These farmers also invented and designed and engineered a lot of these tools and equipment, because they had to repair their machines quicker than a service tech could come out.

So you get robust engineering out of a Farmer. Then the Factory Farmer comes in and says “Hey, I got a friend named John Deer who could mass produce these, and the non-presceint Farmer said cool.”

    BAM innovations stifled.

  • Things are going to get real fucky.

Those in power will be unable to trust each other and their employees even less. We may end up living where we work.

Diseases will be widespread, and no care will be offered to anyone but the privileged.

Famine, likely entirely manufactured, will cause massive amounts of starvation.

Modern conveniences will be slowly lost. Cars will be falling apart because no one can afford mechanics, and the lack of vehicle regulations leads to excessive accidents.

Planes will break up midaire. Widespread blackouts when shit goes sideways. Forget about medicine.

Waterways will be polluted beyond what can be boiled. Breathing in big cities will be hazardous. They will say “efficiency” but not one instance of efficiency will be observable.

Kids showing academic excellence will be abducted and sent to special indoctrination schools so that they can only benefit the regime.

Women will have rights removed. All men will have to do a two year duty in war. Church attendance will be reported to the government.

I have more ideas but I’ll stop there
