scytale@piefed.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are you genuinely excited about?English2·14 hours agoThank you for the kind words! Yeah it really is hard work, especially since I do everything myself. In fact, the post-production work actually takes a lot more time than the actual writing and recording. I’ll definitely post it here on lemmy when it’s out sometime next month.

Set out to do a thing, went ahead and did it, then walked away leaving a legacy. As soon as my older macbook gets too slow, I’ll definitely switch to Asahi.

It’s an open source tool that owners can deploy on their own to track their vehicle’s performance and metrics. The researcher basically found a lot of instances of the tool deployed in the public internet without any authentication set up.
Supposed to be released very soon (as in days, not weeks). The real LPT is to wait for the new version first.

scytale@piefed.zipto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it realistic to hope that lemmy grows to the size of the bigger social media platforms?English5·4 days agoI don’t think so. The barrier to entry is pretty low but the average internet user still can’t get over it, so I don’t think it will ever become mainstream.

The bathroom door or unlocked phone isn’t really a good example because that’s not the privacy issue those people need to be convinced they need.
85% cook at home, 15% eat out or take out (around once a week), 0% delivery. What we save from eating out and delivery goes into buying more stuff at the grocery store to make various dishes at home.

It’s been working well and I only have minor complaints. I definitely would’ve looked into this if I hadn’t gotten my mower yet. Note that so far the author can only guarantee it works on only one model, the one they tested it on.

scytale@piefed.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How would one confirm that the ashes in the urn are from who their supposed to be?English4·6 days agoWhen my grandpa was cremated, we went in the cremation room to see him for the last time. Then we stepped out. After a couple of minutes, we got back in to see the remains. Apparently there are still a lot of larger solid bones that remain, and they have to ground them up into the “ashes” you normally would see. We step out of the room again, and they come out with the urn containing the ashes after another few minutes.
That’s my watch glancing at me every 10 seconds to check if I fell asleep.

Thunder. Cross platform, great UI, and now has piefed support.
I put it under the seat during takeoff/landing, then move it under my legs the rest of the flight. Frees up space for your feet while providing additional support under your legs.
This is just Nestle with extra steps.
