I think this is a very balanced video about the election. I don’t agree with everything but I think it is a perspective worth sharing for those both to the right and left of me.

Absolutely, I am very far left (and disagree in some ways) but as a white dude who doesn’t experience the every day oppression of women and minorities this opened up my perspectives more than I expected. He has been hugely influential to my social understanding of race and gender discrimination

I also think domestic and international election interference election interference plays a much more significant role in American elections than people think and in hindsight and future history textbooks, people will be shaking their heads, not just at the electoral college, but at direct election interference securing Republican victories.
people don’t think election interference is important because we hear the word gerrymander or social media bias or “Russian troll farms” and since they’re omnipresent, they’re dismissed, although they have direct practical influence on campaigns and election processes.
Trump’s support among women increased in 2024 compared to 2020, despite the common narrative about this. 7% more women voted for him, and this increase wasn’t just among white women. In fact, for the first time since 2016, Trump actually lost support from white women.
The biggest shifts came from Latinas: 20% more voted for Trump than in 2020, continuing a steady rise in Latina support since 2016. He also gained 5% more support from Asian women. Beyond women, Trump made gains with voters under 30 and most men, but his biggest wins were with Latine voters and the youth vote overall.
It’s a weird dynamic: an anti-woman political platform seems to increase support from women. Sure, there are probably other big issues at play, but the data suggests targeting women in a platform mainly turns off people with higher education levels—without pushing away women themselves.
Of all the narratives around Harris’ loss, misogyny and racism are the factors that fit the data.
