Aww. Heathcliff doing cat things is underrated.
There are a few interviews out there with Gallagher talking about his apprenticeship to Gately. He’d come up with some idea of a “cat thing” for the comic and they’d reply that they had already done it and that they had done every possible cat thing over the decades and that he was going to have to find a completely different angle to keep this thing going.

Whoa, is that the rise of more HC rearrangers? I guess with “Orbcliff,” that would make at least four for yesterday. :o
Which for some reason makes me want to see one where Grandpa’s and Orangecat’s heads are switched. Kinda like how Snowy & Tintin’s heads were switched, here: https://piefed.social/post/389583
There used to be a lot of editors. And about time I started editing most of them had been quiet for a while. The last few years have been mostly just me. But with HeathcliffHelms picking back up on occasion and the Orb edits people seem to be grabbing editor apps and starting to find their own voice.
And it’s always nice when I see that someone used one of my edits as the base for theirs.
Not hard to understand when you’re incidentally creating a template for them to add their own stuff!
Might I ask what editor you’re using? I tend to use GIMP in general, but there’s so many different ways of doing things in GIMP, that it can actually be kinda counterproductive at times.
I have some familiarity with GIMP. It’s my default editor on a computer. I rarely boot a computer anymore. In fact it’s been so long that I haven’t turned it on since before Windows 10 EOL. I know the next time I turn it on I need to add Linux to that system. My main Linux computer hasn’t been booted in over two years.
I do these edits on my phone. I use multiple apps depending on what’s needed. The default is Polish. If I need a cutout I’ll use PhotoLayers. Text was usually done by Polish or me just drawing it but you got me the right font so now that’s handled in Meme Generator. Once in a while I have to use some other apps but those are the main three.
Damn, I’m impressed.
Even with these boat-sized, modern phones, they’re still too small for me, and… whatever else… to get much serious work done on them, outside stuff like DuoLingo to work on my French. Partly that’s down to my weak eyes, but likely, also partly attitude.Btw, I just barely beat the Win10 EOL by grabbing a micro-sized computer from the local Microcenter. Hit me for $300, but it’s absurdly powerful for being not much larger than a Rubik’s Cube. But yeah, I *do* need to finally swallow my chicken-heart and install linux on this sucker…
I’ve been a Linux user since 99. Slackware is my favorite. It doesn’t try to undo my custom boot scripts.
“Slackware”
Okay, making a chart…
It isn’t for beginners. If you are making a chart then maybe Ubuntu or Pop would be a better choice. Something that doesn’t have you compiling every new program you want.
