Just a below average idiot that mostly comments for one of 3 reasons:

Catharsis, expressing exasperation over the general state of things.

Looking to make someone laugh.

Self deprecation.

  • It was fun for a time when their API access was free so some game developers put llms into their games. I liked being able to communicate with my ships computer, but quickly saw how flawed it was.

“Computer, can you tell me what system we’re in?”

“Sure, we’re in the Goober system.”

“But my map says we’re in Tweedledum.”

“Well it appears that your map is wrong.” Lol

I’m much more concerned about the future when “AGI” is actually useful and implemented into society. “We” (the ownership class) cannot accept anything other than the standard form of ownership. Those that created the AGI own the AGI and “rent” it to those that will “employ” the AGI. Pair that with more capable robotics being currently developed and there will be very little need for people to work most jobs. Because of the concept of ownership we will not let go of, if you can afford to live then you just die. There will be no “redistribution” to help those who cannot find work. We will start hearing more and more about “we don’t need so many people, X billion is too many. There isn’t enough work for them to support themselves.” Not a fun future…

  • It’s great to learn because after a while you can start experimenting and making things you don’t have a recipe for. I kinda have a “memory” for tastes so I can just think about how things might go together so I just kinda make up dishes now. I mean I’m sure I’m not making something unique, but it’s all without a recipe. Or if you are lazy and are craving something you can just make it instead of having to go out lol I’ve made many “cakes” because I was craving something sweet but didn’t have anything around just by knowing how it’s done having done it before.

  • OkCupid.com (founded 2004) asked users a wide range of multiple-choice questions. It then went further by also asking them to specify the responses to those same questions they wanted to see from prospective partners

Yet another example of a feature dumbed down for seemingly no reason… In another comment I mentioned removing features, and this one mentioned here used to have a section for you to elaborate on your response… They removed it just a few years ago for god knows what reason, making that questions section worse…

    “Do pets have souls: yes/no”

…well normally I’d say “no” and then elaborate with “because I don’t believe in souls, I don’t think anyone has a soul. We have personalities and I believe animals have them too.”

Now I just look like some heartless psycho “no, animals don’t have souls.”

  • The only girl to ever reach out to me on a dating site (that wasn’t a bot) without me starting the conversation only did so to suggest I removed the bit about not wanting to own a dog lol

I just noticed that like 99.999999999999999% of women’s profiles mention dogs, some even start with something about dogs, so I figured I’d just be upfront about it and let them filter me out if it’s that important to them. It really is a “dealbreaker” for me, so I’ve just kind of accepted that I’m going to stay single lol

  • I have been on and off dating apps for over 10 years. I witnessed what they did to them.

Enshittification to the maximum. Sites literally REMOVED useful functions and put others behind paywalls. You used to be able to set tags of interests and search by tags as well to find people into the same things as you, but that stops you from swipe swipe swipe swipe swipe… Swipe swipe is time spent on the app which increases the chance you start feeling desperate and pay them for the increased functionality of… Seeing who likes you… Other sites used to let you actually browse who was near you, not swipe, but have a list of people to look through. That’s not swipe swipe swipe pulling the dopamine lever so gotta give it the axe.

I mostly blame Match Group. Any dating site that actually worked well was bought by them and stripped down to be tinder 2.0 clones.

The more difficult it is to use the more likely they are to get you feeling desperate which is how they get you to pay up. No thanks.

  • My cousin doesn’t understand what I mean when I tell him I’m really not a “catch” anymore than an old boot or used tire is a “catch.”

He says I’m “attractive” which is nice to know as I never really thought I was, but there’s way more than just that which is what you “bring to a relationship.”

Video games, gardening, and general science/space nerd isn’t exactly bringing much to a relationship lol add on my lack of education, dead end factory job, general distaste for concerts, the beach, and dogs and I might as well be Hitler lol
