Because of the people it involves, it almost never is genuine applause for one and the thought of just one political party having all their representatives “orgasm” after every single line that is said while the other sits there silent or disgruntled adds to the humor.

It was fun for a time when their API access was free so some game developers put llms into their games. I liked being able to communicate with my ships computer, but quickly saw how flawed it was.

I’m much more concerned about the future when “AGI” is actually useful and implemented into society. “We” (the ownership class) cannot accept anything other than the standard form of ownership. Those that created the AGI own the AGI and “rent” it to those that will “employ” the AGI. Pair that with more capable robotics being currently developed and there will be very little need for people to work most jobs. Because of the concept of ownership we will not let go of, if you can afford to live then you just die. There will be no “redistribution” to help those who cannot find work. We will start hearing more and more about “we don’t need so many people, X billion is too many. There isn’t enough work for them to support themselves.” Not a fun future…

This makes the US state of the union address somehow even more disturbing.

My coworkers say “welcome home” when we start the day… We talk about our time away from the shop as if it were just a quick run to do errands before returning “home.”

I used to work as a refrigeration technician and when I first started I was working with an old Russian dude who had no filter. It’s great to learn because after a while you can start experimenting and making things you don’t have a recipe for. I kinda have a “memory” for tastes so I can just think about how things might go together so I just kinda make up dishes now. They did, it’s why star citizen was lagging behind so hard for so long. All the production focus went into squadron 42 like 6ish years ago. Squadron 42 is announced for release next year and since the announcement they turned production focus back to star citizen. Still SC 1.0 is going to be years away still because they’re so damn slow with everything they do…

Yet another example of a feature dumbed down for seemingly no reason… In another comment I mentioned removing features, and this one mentioned here used to have a section for you to elaborate on your response… They removed it just a few years ago for god knows what reason, making that questions section worse…

Enshittification to the maximum. Sites literally REMOVED useful functions and put others behind paywalls. You used to be able to set tags of interests and search by tags as well to find people into the same things as you, but that stops you from swipe swipe swipe swipe swipe… Swipe swipe is time spent on the app which increases the chance you start feeling desperate and pay them for the increased functionality of… Seeing who likes you… Other sites used to let you actually browse who was near you, not swipe, but have a list of people to look through. That’s not swipe swipe swipe pulling the dopamine lever so gotta give it the axe.

I mostly blame Match Group. Any dating site that actually worked well was bought by them and stripped down to be tinder 2.0 clones.

The more difficult it is to use the more likely they are to get you feeling desperate which is how they get you to pay up. No thanks.

My cousin doesn’t understand what I mean when I tell him I’m really not a “catch” anymore than an old boot or used tire is a “catch.”
