I remember the days when I spent time convincing people to use chat apps. The last one that stuck was WhatsApp.
I’ve since stopped installing new chat apps because people won’t use them.
WhatsApp just works. Wanna video call my Mum? Push a button. Wanna send a Lemmy meme to my mates? Yeah it’s 3 taps.
I open up Facebook on me birthday and press the ❤️ on the birthday messages then shut it down and don’t use it for another year.
But if I do that with WhatsApp then I don’t hear from people I actually care about.
I actually have a friend that refuses to use WhatsApp like I do with FaceFuck. “How does she do it then?” I hear you ask.
She uses Facebook Messenger.

I heard a BBC news story on the Podcast last week that was talking about an African nation, can’t remember which one. What struck me was that the nation’s military is that crap that Wagner are basically it, and in return they have interests in the Gold and Diamonds that come out of the country.
What was described was whole areas of the country run by Islamist groups and warlords. The military has failed in their battles with these warlords and the rulers are relying on Wagner for their own security.
From actually reading the piece, this headline is wrong. It should read “Gang-raped 14 year old was burned alive then cut to pieces”
Which actually makes more sense
For transparency, it says that she was alive when she was burned, and the body was recovered from more than one location and this made the investigation harder.
So I have then concluded that she was burned alive and then cut to pieces, rather than cut to pieces alive and then burned.

My 19 year old cat does this “scream” when we give her people-food. She carries it up to the sofa she lives on and screams. Apparently it’s because she’s “proud of her kill” and wants to show it off, but i think she’s saying “Thanks human, we share”

I haven’t used shampoo on my long hair that is mid back length now. It’s not at all greasy. It was for a month when I had short hair and gave up on shampoo.
Also I no longer have dandruff and my hair is more manageable, so I don’t need product in my hair either.
I “shampoo” with conditioner once a week and just use hot water the rest of the time.
Waste your money on shampoo though, I don’t care.
