there are tons of $50 smart phones out there these days.

expensive coffee. i spend like $60/mo on coffee beans.
a lot of software dev people are incredibly naive when it comes to how human beings interact and behave.
their biggest mistake is often they assume other people are chill nerds like they are…
i already have had multiple weirdos harass me on lemmy for not being leftist enough. i’ve blocked dozens now, and really kills the experience to have some crazy people go around and brigading your comments because you disagree with their political viewpoint slightly.
way too many people take the internet comments/points WAY too seriously…
I taught business ethnics for MBAs when i was in graduate school.
The only ‘ethics’ they learned was ‘maximize shareholder value at any price’. They spent an entire semester learning to to argue why murdering people and abusing people was morally justified as long as the share price goes up. That was the curriculum. Nothing else mattered.
What gets me is a lot of people in the education world are starting adopting this bullshit attitude. My city removed advanced level math courses from middle/high school because it was ‘unfair’ to students who lacked the talent/drive to be good at maths… basically handicapping everyone because a subset of the students were bad at math. Basically nobody is allowed to be better than someone at something and pursue their talents… because that is ‘mean and hurtful’. WTF
Thanks for having a good attitude. Way too many folks these days… are whiny and entitled and think nothing should be enjoyed by anyone if they can’t enjoy it. I’m athletic and I enjoy difficult/complex video games… and it’s always bizarre to me how some folks get some angry at me for enjoying things they don’t/can’t. I can’t play grandmaster level chess or a musical instrument, but I’m not angry about it.
I’m 75% through and have had very few issues with the game man. But yeah, bosses take time to learn and figure out. Takes me about a dozen tries per boss then I’m smoking them.
Learn the patterns, equip the right buffs, and it’s really not that hard.
because the rules only apply to bad people. good people don’t need no rules!
the reality is that incompetent managers love to blame their employees for not doing shit they never told them to do.
My father was a great anti-role model.
I tried my hardest to not be like him and his shittiness.
bingo. they require attention and effort and you might get something out of them…
social media… is designed to require neither… just like reality tv or candy crush… which are junk.
and same with food. a good meal requires attention and effort to make… cup o noodles requires almost none, but has very little nutritional value beyond hitting your salt and fat receptors.
pretty much.
people who have it seem to be convinced everyone else has it. it’s a cognitive bias. just like white folks think racism isn’t real because they don’t experience it.
do women approach you or flirt with you?
are you sure?
people generally tell comforting myths and lies to themselves and collectively because the harsh reality of the situation is too terrifying to accept.
people also generally believe that ‘one day i’ll be rich’. even though they are 45 and working at a cashier in a gas station.
it’s also easier to tell yourself comforting BS because then you don’t have to take action and realize you are mostly a product of the choices you have made.
Talk to someone who has been through a divorce and had their entire life destroyed.
And get out of your own head.
what about what people say about you IRL behind your back?
nobody is going to make a top end phone without a good camera. that’s not how product design works.
