App wise I recommend just using the progressive web app (install website as app). It works very well, and you always get the latest updates.
For the server, find one that targets one of your interests.
I make things with computers. Preferably artsy things, but I also like to work on random scripts and pipelines. I like D&D & video games, but don’t always have time to play them. I like pet chicken. I watch soccer, especially NWSL & USWNT, as well as some WSL and whatever happens to be on.

Oil demand deceleration is up in country where demand for non battery vehicles is down. China.
Yes, it’s the embarrassment that’s really important here. 🙄
I was thinking more of an open API of how the game interacts with multiplayer services, so that in theory anyone could setup a server, or server services. In practice I completely agree with you though. Nobody wants to do the whole “Oh wait, you’re on that server? I have an account with that other server” thing. Steam, or some other party, would just become the defacto place.
Oh, it would be super fun if you’re into the game, as long as it doesn’t become a job, which it might.
I could see this leading to standardizing and outsourcing multiplayer services, which would be interesting.
That being said, before that happens, as a developer I’d be like: here’s a zip file with all of our proprietary stuff ripped out. Have fun spending the next few months getting it to work well. Congratulations, you’re now supporting a game that did poorly enough for us to drop it.
But seriously, go sign it. Long term it should be a good thing.
That’s such a capitalist way of thinking. “The daycare down the street is never going to compete with ABC Baby Slaughter as long as their rates are higher!”
Non EV owners can’t grok how convenient home charging is, and the reality that station charging is a general rarity.
Is there anyone who likes reading code more than writing it?
This looks so good. Hope there’s a demo
Tactical beach wizard. Wish it were multi player, but enjoyed it a lot either way.
I wish it had co-op play
I once took over an app that worked like this. Access to one thing? Access to everything! And they had a hard coded admin password in the server code. 🤦 The client wasn’t happy when I proposed a complete rewrite. Eventually my manager begged me to stop working with them, so we did.
I like how the code adds a 0 at the start.
Omg, did you just invent MicroAI’s? I love it. Huge potential.
I guess I’m not sure how others build with micro services, but using AWS SAM is stupid simple, and the only maintenance we’ve ever had to do is update a Node version. 🤷
Just tried this with my kids. I got broccoli and tomato. I didn’t look cool at all.
This is really easy to test in fairly small social groups. The next time you’re in a group ordering pizza, say you want cheese, because you don’t eat meat. Now watch everyone else order, or change their order to, double meat supreme with bacon. It’s almost like they can’t help themselves. It’s hilarious how easy you can change other people’s behavior.
I read this to my kids a few years ago, and while super weird, it’s also super racist, in the “Chinese say ching chong, haha” kind of way, and it does it with just about any race, culture, and stereotype you can think of (since they take over a space station and it becomes an international incident).
At this point the screenshot thing needs it’s own sub
