The thousand injuries of Fascists I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge.

3·3 months agoIt is a ton of fun! A word of warning though: there are funky game mechanics stemming from its origin as a board game from the 80s.
I don’t hate sales as a concept. I just dislike the sociopaths who tend to work there.

Most app devs fuck it up (especially the lazy bastards that just throw everything in /opt and call it a day). I like being the dev who won’t let my code ship until everything fits nicely into FHS 3.0.
There’s dozens of us.

Hell, R was being used in colleges in 2000. Unfortunately, whether it was SPSS for the soft sciences or forcing stats work in Matlab for the engineers, professors always seemed bad at promoting the right tool for the job.

World News@lemmy.world•Video game workers in North America now have an industry-wide unionEnglish
2·9 months agoIf you’re in a union already, that is not something that can generally be asked about by management, both at hiring or during your employment. Being in a union is not the same as being in a unionized workplace.
When employees of a store/factory/etc decide to unionize, there’s a point at which a specific larger union can be chosen to represent them (AFL-CIO, IBEW, Teamsters, etc). If successful, this is what allows for collective bargaining led by a union representative.

Of course they should. Where else would I get my snilk from?
