I don’t even know who this shit is for. I see the censored memes far more on lemmy than I do any other social media platform. Is this all coming from facebook? Because they themselves are often screenshots of content from tumblr or twitter

bestagon@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•why is it that the USA holds such power over the world now and not the UK who histrionically dominated most of it?3·3 months agoFun fact: Alaska was invaded a little bit by Japan during WW2. On Attu Americans suffered heavy casualties from the weather and basically all of the Japanese force was killed in battle. On Kiska there was a pretty bad skirmish between US and Canadian forces resulting from mistaken identity and a ship hit a stray seamine before they found out the island was abandoned anyway. So a real bad time all around but still not really affecting industrial wellness

That’s an interesting take. One on one side the death is a haphazard byproduct and on the other it is at least motivated by someone. Somebody has to have a vision for why these weapons need to be used. I’d argue though that in the case of Amazon, wether or not it’s of any priority to them, the suffering would be something worth ironing out over time whereas, for weapons companies, it’s the entire product they sell
Yeah but profiting off of starvation, homelessness or sickness is slightly less concerned with destroying human life efficiently, more so extracting value from suffering. Far harder to wiggle your way out of a bomb dropping on you. In that way, defense contractors are especially gross imo. I guess you could argue being blown apart may be more humane though idk

It exists to cover bank runs and it is your money. There is nothing wrong with wanting your money in any given moment. That’s just my take though, I’m not a lawyer.
I think it’d basically defeat its preventative purpose though if a story got out that people weren’t covered, even in an engineered bank run. What if you’re not in on the plot? What if it happens tomorrow at your bank? Are you just fucked too? Better withdraw all your money to be safe

In the case of ballpoints I can see this being a pretty permanent problem once it builds up enough to stop up the pen

It was the gatekeeper of philosophical education (largely on classist principles), to things like literacy, and used humanity’s curiosity and hunger for knowledge as a carrot on a stick to buy into an oppressive status quo.
Xenophobia and racism exist in America outside of the trump ultras. Hell, outside of the republican party even
This is the worst, I feel so uncomfortable. How am I supposed to react to somebody shit-talking their own place? Especially if it’s nicer than my living arrangement.
Used to fantasize about these being used to play local multiplayer without having to split the screen
Those stopped existing when it became cheaper to just throw the whole thing out and buy a new one
Just a thief?? That’s creative, solution seeking, and ecologically conscious problem solving right there
bestagon@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What's the endgame when the rich have all the money?6·6 months agoThey don’t think about endgame. The life they live is one without consequence; they have no intention to start thinking ahead, that’d make them uncomfortable.
Also, this endgame is already manifesting. Remember all those headlines about millennials killing “X” industry? Less wealth in the working class for luxuries that previous generations would have enjoyed at the same age. Before long it’ll be not enough wealth for certain luxuries outright.
Nah dude, didn’t you hear? Tankies off lemmy spoiled a whole US election
Maybe they learn some empathy
