Only if there’s solution you can bring about that isn’t one of the evils.

You are morally responsible in some degree for 20 people dying rather than 10. Though, in that example, I seriously doubt that most people would think the moral choice is to shoot the 10 people. Probably because we instinctually know that wouldn’t be the end of it or none of the deaths seem inevitable.
Yes, you can. It’s just a trolley problem, and you’re choosing to not flip the switch. It’s still your choice and has consequences.
Except the other option is worse. And you are complicit in whoever wins if you don’t vote at all.
I would like some houses without people. Having a little surplus is usually a good thing. So like if some houses become unlivable, we have houses for the suddenly unhoused people.
It’s crazy how different people are. The idea of sitting through a video to do something like this is so painful to me. Like I find it useful for physical things where seeing the motion can be helpful, but I still generally find doing things that way awful. Please, please, please just give me written instructions for things. Especially if I’m going to need to refer back to it a few times (e.g. there are multiple steps that take a bit of time).
Slurs about a community are often not to be said by anyone but a person in that community trying to reclaim the slur. Maybe it should be “no one is allowed to say slurs,” but there seems to be healing involved in taking back those words.
Any kind of executive policy to ignore laws works kind of like this. DACA, the lack of federal prosecution for Marijuana, etc. The current administration doesn’t allow it, but you can still face consequences later.
Yes, but the keys shouldn’t be able to pass through the door.
Do VPNs make that feature kind of pointless? We can’t access most things from home without going through a VPN. Every where I’ve worked (and gone to school) was like that.
Does your RSVP have options for remote vs in person? My options are “accept”, “decline”, and “tentative.” If I want to tell someone I’m remote that day, it needs to be a separate message.
That part is currently illegal even in the US. So, baking it into an app would be a bad idea. Most of the time companies do illegal things, they try to be less explicit.
in the story, he dried them in the sun.
the story says the pigs who did less work spent the days playing not getting paid and buying food
The version I remember being told had the first little pig just look around and see straw, the second little pig had to go gather sticks from the nearby woods, and the third little pig had to actually make the bricks over days.
I found this video and I really wouldn’t be able to tell if it was just sound. I think I have like 2 categories I can reliably do for strings: bow or not.
Soundwise or visually? I can see the difference (big vs little) but I don’t think I could reliably pick out the sound between the two.
When they’re really little, high contrast is more clear and theoretically more interesting. There’s a lot of black and white toys aimed at newborns for that reason.
That’s why self-made is in quotes. But many female billionaires are primarily heiresses little known or primarily known as a male billionaire’s daughter/wife/ex-wife. Swift turning millions into billions is about as self-made as any other billionaire.
She’s a “self-made” female billionaire. Her money isn’t from something like Walmart or Amazon, where it’s obvious how she’s exploiting people. It’s clear she’s very talented. And she seems smart and like she won’t get pushed around by scummy music execs (Taylor’s version).
Her music speaks to people and makes them feel like they’re understood and like they understand her. When she got a lot of hate (because most things teenage girls enjoy get a lot of hate), plenty of people felt personally attacked, and that made them more defensive and appreciative of her. She poked fun at the stereotypes making her more endearing.
The first question is the problem. If the aliens have an analog rule (“Do they possess our intelligence or greater?”) then it only works if humans and them are roughly the same intelligence.
