Your dad’s a smart guy!
Your dad’s a smart guy!
That’s the smart plan. Every time I’ve been to a casino (4 times I can recall) I had an amount set aside that I was prepared to lose and that would be it for me. A couple times I got ahead and just cashed out.
If you get voted into power, lobbyists give you even more money.
Sort of, Dan Wilson said he had the idea while writing the song because his wife was pregnant so he slipped it in as a double entendre. It’s like 90% bar closing with a couple lines alluding to being born: “Closing time, this room won’t be open till your brothers or your sisters come”.
People have an inherent inability to assess probability. Even with “safer” games like black jack when your odds are a little closer to 50:50, people will keep pushing until they have no money left. Bet it all 4 times and there’s about a 94% chance you lose it all.

Think of this from his perspective: the Democrats put their faith in the idea that money wins elections, and if you can out-raise your opponent the votes will follow. Twice they conspired against Bernie in the primaries because of his platform: tackling wealth inequality, progressive tax reform, and overturning Citizens United v. FEC. That’s why I just buy Gadolinium and slice each atom in half!
Sorry, but your comment definitely reminded me of this video.

Same, though for me it’s usually the bathroom floor tiles telling me my friends don’t like me as much as I think they do.
The really impressive thing about Valve is the amount of revenue they make with a relatively small head count. They have about 1/10 the number of employees as EA.
In that case, maybe it wasn’t that great of a house rule to begin with!
Or, perhaps go the PF2e route and allow the player to tack on a weapon maneuver of choice if their attack roll exceeds the target AC by a certain amount (5?)
Reminds me of how they incorporated weapon type-specific attacks in BG3. Stealing this one for sure.
So far, I’ve included in my current campaign: a utility belt that holds 3 healing potions allowing them to be used as a bonus action and a totem that allows them to reroll a hit die result of “1” on level up.
