Whoever can afford this can already afford the laptop alternatives. My guess is that this will be a convenient “nice to have” item whenever bringing along a tablet over a laptop feels like less of a hassle.

You can consider getting the Qin F22 Pro.
Erm, that’s not the same thing that the comment was referring to. We’re talking about paying twice for essentially the same app on two different operating systems.
That’s different from the lock in that you are referring to. Your explanation involves installing the same purchased app on two devices running Android.
Also, I have a lot of apps and games that only require me to make a one time purchase on either Android or iOS.
I’ve literally tried every single fix like toggling settings, installing and playing around with custom kernels or trying out root apps, and I’ve never been able to reduce the aggressiveness of MIUI’s RAM management.
That issue persisted even on my flagship-equivalent end MIUI devices. It only seems to disappear after installing AOSP-based custom ROMs.
That is not a lock in though? It’s just personal preference to avoid paying double for apps.
I’m using this Python-based tool.
I’ve literally never heard of Keen until this article.
The current method for sideloading apps without a developer account seems to be limited to three separate apps at a time.
I don’t think that’s Signal haha
Is there a guide to this? I still can’t use a different phone as a linked device, only on desktop or iPads.
The inability to use it on two different phones kills it for me.
I mean, a lot of people use Messenger to contact other people, so I guess they do?
We have a free subscription through our home fibre bundle.
I’m confused, I just did a quick search and found one on Amazon that’s listed for about $14. Am I missing something here?
Yes, but it works better for those whose main SIMs are on iPhones. I personally use BlueBubbles at the moment.
The messages app also supports forwarding text messages to other devices.
We can even ignore the other features of iMessage. This adds a layer of convenience to those who use both iOS and Android.
Can’t wait for Twitter (formerly X (formerly Twitter)) to come.
If Google can update the user interface server-side, doesn’t that mean that disabling updates still wouldn’t work for avoiding these full screen ads?
A used smart battery case is pretty good too.
