Unfortunately this is satire, and not consequences of their actions. I wish it was real though.

2·4 days agoThe owners typically don’t show up at all. They hire CEOs to run their companies, which is fair game. You pitchfork a CEO, you still send a message.

Linux@programming.dev•2026 is THE year of the linux desktopEnglish
8·10 days agoIt has been for me since 2004. But yeah 2026 too.
It’s not either-or. We don’t have to rewind time. What we need to do is learn from the past. What we gained and what we lost on the way.
Today there is a pervasive culture of individual responsibility, hustle, self improvement, competition… This is killing us all inside while benefiting the 0.01%. we need to learn the value of community again. We are pack animals, we have survived by sticking together and taking care of eachother for millennia.
Check out the random items on the desk. They make no sense.
But yes, the biggest giveaway is those slightly blurry pop ups and that not-quite-comicsans font you see in all that slop.

Nah it’s training large language models now.
Some things can be blamed on the economy — not this. This is a matter of making first things first and not blaming others for our own short comings.
This is connected to economy and politics. Neoliberalism, to be exact. Rugged individualism, individual responsibility, every man for himself… The same myths used for concentrating wealth into teeny tiny minority and making masses poorer, are also making us lonely and isolated.
We are pack animals, we have survived for hundreds of thousands of years (millions if you count non-sapient ancestors) by building communes and taking care of eachother.

3·16 days agoI’m aware of Dell officially supporting Ubuntu on their business machines, I appreciate that. What I meant is the market impact. Dell sells those development oriented workstations for those who actively seek them.
Go to any consumer store, online or meatspace, anything that is not a Macbook or Chromebook comes with windows.
(Of course it’s a chicken and egg problem, stores don’t want to stock things that won’t be in high demand)

1321·16 days agoHe’s right. If vendors offered Linux based machines people would try. Valve is helping Linux adoption more than all the big names like Dell, Lenovo, HP… combined.
Considering the anime, it’s lore accurate.

Fun fact, last summer we had an intern younger than the Wii in our gaming room.
Jolene is not necessarily hotter, it’s about insecurity and self doubt.
