For the redirect from YouTube to PeerTube, it just uses the video title. This sometimes results in a “false positive”, but it does work.
You can try it with “The Linux Experiment”.

PeerTube suffers from a lot of defragmentation. Only a few instances federates with a lot of other instances.
With Lemmy or Mastodon, you can almost pick any instance and still be able to federate with anyone.

Does this work as a direct link?: https://techlore.tv/download/streaming-playlists/hls/videos/43d9d434-a748-4fba-a4bb-f1613b064d05-720-fragmented.mp4
I’m on mobile.

PeerTube video is automatically embedded.
I will never understand why people would recommend CachyOS to a newbie.
First thing he do is complain about not knowing which boot manager to choose and the system not telling him. Please read the CachyOS wiki 😅

I don’t really think so, no.
Edit: That it’s confusing
That’s because he’s very serious about this year being the year of the Linux desktop.
Lemmy is literally a link aggregator. You link to stuff and then it can be discussed.
If you wanna create c/florida, go for it. Post news, politics, humor, facts, questions etc. related to Florida.
If you need inspiration, you can always look at that other place subreddit 😉

I think that’s a problem for everyone, but there is always something to fast. It’s not going to be every topic that interest you, but you can shift some of the time spent on YouTube to PeerTube instead. That’s a start. If no one isn’t watching anything on PeerTube, then the content surely won’t improve.
Check out the two pinned posts at !peertube@lemmy.wtf. It has a list of recommended instances and a list of channels.

Yes, it’s only me. But please continue to report accounts not using the NSFW tag.
I use one for PeerTube and another for Lemmy. Firefox addons.
Can’t remember the names, but should be fairly easy to find.

I suggest you financially support PieFed instead and the instance you are on.

Hoping for something like this for PeerTube and personal customisation of the algorithm.

You can do something about the content 😊

How the links act is different from client to client. If you click the link in the Lemmy web UI, it will take you directly to Lemmy.wtf, but if you used Voyager (iOS client), it will automatically redirect to your own instance.
This is something that should be built into the Lemmy web UI.
You can also use browser addons. I have an addon that redirects me to my own instance, if I click on a link in my browser. I also have an addon that takes me from YouTube to Peertube, if the video also exist in PeerTube or if I click a PeerTube link, it takes me to my instance.
Also how dare you criticise the awesome TLD .wtf, which is clearly an abbreviation of “What The Fediverse”?!

You would still need a payment processor, which takes a huge chunk of the cake in fees.

“Too many choices”…
Hello from Lemmy :)
I was lazy and just took the short version. It’s alright.
