I don’t find any issues on .world. Yeah some people say dumb stuff, but that’s just the world isn’t it? I am sure there are others who think the same of me. It’s whatever, some people getting mad at .world are just mad they’re not in an echo chamber.

But other people complaining about trolls are right, there’s just no place for that. Report, block and move on. It’s not your job to educate anyone.

Regarding what people like, yeah I guess the nicer way is to just accept that some people will have “bad” taste. Like a lot of people use MacOS instead of taking the time to learn and use Linux. I don’t know about your friend, but someone may decide against dating apps if they’re looking for less superficial and more meaningful connections.

I don’t blame him though, most people make me lose my faith in humanity. I think it’s rational for someone to want to protect themselves and favor self-preservation. I also think it’s rational to contribute to a system which helps sustain you and your life and everything you enjoy doing. I don’t think it’s fair to ask people to make sacrifices or be altruistic or less selfish. I do think it’s fair to ask people to be reasonable and civil.

I think the problem is that it’s targeting residents, which is how you know the policy was drafted by anti-environmental proponents, regardless of what anyone says. Carbon taxes need to target companies, not residents. Companies and industries are the main producers of carbon emissions, the output of residents pales in comparison.
