Agreed. Although they started the show by showing a slide of how shit subways are… so I don’t think it is in Teslas interest to be an addition to mass transport. And they themselves walk a fine line between selling a consumercar or just reinventing buses

I am sorry, but these rust evangelist’s are a bit ridiculous. Rust is I great language. But saying that the Linux kernal not having a future because not everyone will adapt a new programming language is stupid. Does he not realize he is putting alot more technical burden on the remaining maintainers that need to learn a completely different language because he decided the kernel suddenly neeeds rust, thanks I guess?
Very focused on the north American market. Where I live induction stove tops have been more or less standard for 20+ years. BUT I didn’t know special round coils existed for round wokpans. Pretty cool. Although I think a wokpans with a flat bottom is fine for home cooking, maybe get one that is slightly heavier so its able to retain more heat as you work your food. It is kind of ridiculous that this would be an argument to get a gas stove, given that standard gas stoves don’t have a rocket engine flame that is required to get the real wok experience at home anyway. I don’t even think you would want that in a home kitchen. Also it is a bit niche for most people.
Great! I wonder if it is as good and frustration as when I was a child. The platforming was the typical wonky 3d jumping puzzles, although I seem to remember it striking a good balance of not going on for too long. Looking forward ✌️

Where I am from It is very common that people break in and only steal the loose valuables inside the car. Not the car itself. If you don’t even have to crack a window i would imagine it is very enticing to do so and specialize in Teslas… with that said, I can’t magine Teslas are more prone to this and other brands. What makes Teslas a bigger target is that their fleet is large and use very similar components and tech. If you hack one, you can hack into alot of them.
I don’t know. I know some older midrange phones tried it out. I wonder if the main benefit is to heal the crease from the screen being unfolded or if it is to protection the softer screen surface. I hope it solves the former issue.
Thank you for the nice write-up. I agree that it is great and whatis very impressive. Also to see old hardware not going to a landfill. I have definitely “fixed” up friend and elderlies computers by installing Ubuntu, and more lately I tried fedora silver blue for a friend. And I too have second hand ThinkPads, a P53 6 core, 64gb, rtx3000 and a t440 and then my work machine is a xps13 (not secondhand). It runs great on all of these and linux is a real workhorse.
I think my point of view come from windows “techies” that seem to be completely oblivious to Linux outside of running it on a Raspberry pi or the like, and linux is only as a way to “save” a computer because windows can’t run on it anymore. To me, Linux is a first choice for server, workstations, home use, gaming… really anything, but I might be biased… like most of us in this forum 😅😉
I can recommend running it on new hardware. I love that it runs great on old hardware, but it is a bit of a disservice to Linux distros that people always experience it on raspberry pies and other old laptops or otherwise relatively slow hardware.
Linux on a brand new hardware is insanely good.

I do it already at work! Windows runs great in qemu.
There is a few things that we still need to move away from, app wise, that requires windows. But already I solve 95% of my work tasks in Linux. We will soon move all terminal computers in our production lines to Foss software and new stations run Ubuntu. Linux runs lighter and cheaper and easier to maintain and update and replace. We are super happy about it.
Best thing is, it will only get better!

Probably will be most notable for personal desktops with increased software support of consumer hardware. Mainstream only cares about what OS is pre installed, linux users are 99,9% advanced users just by the fact that they take the time to install an OS. Company adoption have the same issue, companies use what have worked before and what most employees are used to… and of course, what is pre installed on the desktops they buy.
Desktop linux is unlikely to happen at any point, just by the above facts. I am also not convinced it is the first choice for most tasks on a desktop. Servers and mobile it works great and other LTS hardware. With that said, I think when governments adopt linux we will definitely see an actual market and ecosystem develop… 2030? Maybe before, because countries will wake up and release its not the best idea to share all their data with MS. I could see something like Trump becoming president again, could actually spur on the adoption rate.
