Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you think of the future of the Internet? Will the "Splinternet" become reality for most of the world?
11·6 months agoAll networks are LAN. The Internet is made of millions of tiny networks routed together.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•is Lemmy the most popular 'Reddit Alternative'?
10·6 months agoI’m actually okay with it. All of the insufferable people appear to be on bsky (all of the Twitter converts) and all the really interesting people are on Mastodon. Bsky is also full of AI slop.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•is Lemmy the most popular 'Reddit Alternative'?
111·6 months agoMy guess would be redlib as the most popular. It lets you read Reddit without having to turn off your VPN or log in.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those of you that back your vehicle into parking spots, why do you do it?
9·9 months agoIn my experience I’ve learned it seems safer to back in because then I can see better when exiting, which is a time of limited visibility, in many cases, already, and that problem is exacerbated when attempting it in reverse.

15·9 months agoI’ve decided that I’ll skip Nintendo consoles moving forward and just use emulation if there’s a game I really want. I’ll buy the cartridge to cover myself ethically and just put it in a drawer.

4·11 months agoI’m a Linux user who had Windows 10 on one computer for VR but once I saw Microsoft’s CEO at Trump’s inauguration I removed that last install, deleted my Meta accounts, and put my Quest 3 in a box.
