Well I think the original comic achieves more than the barest effort then. We have the setup (why seatbelt on plane?), the vaguely dark-humoured explanation, the absurdist ‘oh ok that makes sense’ as the punchline (where, y’ know, a lot of the humour is because so many people identify with that ‘i don’t care if the truth is dark I just want to know’ idea). Anyway. Not lazy.

So would you consider it, potentially… lazy?

I use arch in my boxers. Usually haven’t made it to socks, but if I had arch sock you better believe they’d be sexy. I use arch btw.

Oh man, I hear you. Actually I’m a slob, I don’t just have a grinder, it’s one of those all-in-one filter coffee machines. Every morning at 6.30 there’s that grinding noise and a few mins later the smell drifts in. I don’t wanna get up but dang it you’ve made it worth my while, coffee machine, I ain’t mad.

Oh my god I didn’t know it was still up anywhere. I regret not getting a copy of the book way back when but I was a student and had no money. It was a very good comic.

No. It’s all a bit hand-wavy and nebulous tbh; I think the only leg it’ll have to stand on will be if and when entanglement effects are seen to have a predictive power over complex states that we simply haven’t seen; and IMO at that point it ceases to be an argument about consciousness anyway

Rancher got a lot better very quickly, but I’ve never used podman and have heard mixed things about it… Might give it a whirl at some point, but I’ve been saying that to myself for years
