I’d say virtually all Hispanic people have some Native American ancestry. The number of Hispanic people living in the Americas with an exclusively European lineage is probably very small. But, that’s just like my opinion, man.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why don't cars have a way to contact nearby cars like fictional spaceships do?
16·1 month agoImagine the giant trucks road raging because you’re in the left lane and only going +20 the speed limit. Or the old creeps hitting on teenagers.
What if we instead imagine the truck drivers politely asking you to move over? What if the ability to communicate freely with other drivers made the experience closer to walking in a crowd. I’m imagining something that allows all vehicles within a certain radius to hear one another so you can communicate with courtesy. I think a lot of road rage stems from our frustrations with our inability to communicate (and be held accountable) by the people around us.

Tech@programming.dev•AI is not just ending entry-level jobs. It's the end of the career ladder as we know it
381·3 months agoThe end of jobs is actually a good thing if we can commit to taking care of one another and prioritizing the safety of the human race over the desires of billionaires. So, we’re probably fucked.
I managed to solve it in the early 2000s with nothing other than a lot of time. I just messed with it whenever I was not typing at a customer service job. Definitely no genius required. Just persistance.

7·4 months agoI thought that Enterprise. Except Riker is the participant.
This happened to my parents in the 90s in Florida. They did a consultation with a lawyer and he told them to stop paying rent. So they did. Saved the money and used it to make a downpayment on their first house. I don’t know if it still applies but it’s probably worth a look.

2·5 months agoI played through Metroid Dread finally about a month ago. Had it since it launched. When my wife was a kid, their rule was that they had to beat the game before you could get a new one. I rarely beat games as a kid so that seemed harsh to me.

This article make a big stink about how mentioning that he had genes that showed “very high” scores for a predisposition to autism, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and how we shouldn’t mention that because it might make people with these disorders feel more Hitlery. It also says he had similar genes for having a micropenis but doesn’t show the same concern for people with this affliction. Well, Lemmy, does this new information make you feel more Hitlery?
