Yeah i dont get this complaint. This is just a label that people can qualify for, its not a competition or curated list of totally great websites. Its literally just like an energy efficiency sticker on a TV.

Gnome is so bad it hurts. I was reading a blog post by factorios linux dev earlier.
Once Wayland support was implemented, I received a bug report that the window was missing a titlebar and close buttons (called “window decorations”) when running on GNOME. Most desktop environments will allow windows to supply their own decorations if they wish but will provide a default implementation on the server side as an alternative. GNOME, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that all clients must provide their own decorations, and if a client does not, they will simply be missing. I disagree with this decision; Factorio does not need to provide decorations on any other platform, nay, on any other desktop environment, but GNOME can (ab)use its popularity to force programs to conform to its idiosyncrasies or be left behind

They are useful for those people though. You can put a QR code or URL on your business card and it will give people all the information they need for your businessor something.

Thats is how Wikipedia has always operated. Wikipedia articles should be and mostly are entirely made up of information that comes from other sources. They are basically just fancy packaging that combines information from hundreds of sources into a single article thats easier to understand. And when all the people, whose job is researching genocide, agree that Israel is comitting one, then all the competent sources will themselves just echo that sentiment.

I was wondering that too. Just take some isopropyl alcohol and those stickers would fall right off. They really went out of their way to damage the paint during removal.

Clearly people dont seem to like my take and its sort of expected. I also despise the whole “just dont by those avocados if you cant afford them” thing that rich people loving pushing. But damn if it takes “months” to save up 280$ then you are basically living paycheck to paycheck. I feel like i would prefer having an extra 280$ of emergency savings in that situation rather than slightly fancier RAM sticks.
Obviously lots of assumptions there. Could just be a kid saving up pocket money. Could be someone that earns plenty of money and just decides to only spend a very limited amount on hobbies.

Sort of, but you dont want to combine two sticks with different timings or frequency. So you gotta buy the high end ones straight away or be forced to remove the cheap one when you add better ones.

Even ignoring the price hike, if you have to save for months to buy RAM, you should probably save it instead. Doesnt sound like a very smart financial decision to spend every last cent on your PC.

Adau was meant to earn $600 (£450) per month, but only got a sixth of that.
“They deducted money for our rent, for our Russian classes, for the Wi-Fi, for our transport to work, for taxes. And then they also said that if we skipped a day of work, they’d deduct $50. If we set off the fire alarm whilst cooking, they’d deduct $60. If we didn’t hand in our Russian language homework, or if we skipped class, they’d deduct from your salary.”
That is so comically bad it almost seems unreal. Like the old US coal mine systems.

“Being exploited by” or “Organized by” ??

Tomer-Yerushalmi appeared to be a model servant of the state. Only the second woman to rise to the position, in 2021, she was appointed chief military advocate – effectively the IDF’s top lawyer.
She was shaping up to be such a good little war criminal, but she just had go and develop a moral compass…
The country was also still in the grip of profound shock and, for many citizens, fury at the October 7 massacre, with extremely limited concern for the treatment of detained Palestinians.
Such a way with words. “extremely limited concern for the treatment of detained Palestinians” is a very pretty way to say “thirsting for the blood of innocent civilians”

You may be disappointed if you go looking for Google’s open Gemma AI model in AI Studio today.
Oh nooo, something i didnt even know existed and had no intention of using got removed. How horrible :o

The chart you added is missing amazon tho. Gotta update that thang.

“The incident in Sde Teiman caused immense damage to the image of the state of Israel and the IDF [Israel Defense Forces],” the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said in a statement on Sunday. “This is perhaps the most severe public relations attack that the state of Israel has experienced since its establishment.”
Telling the truth was the “most severe public relations attack that the state of Israel has experienced since its establishment”.
Makes ya wonder huh?

I never said anything about complying with laws, people just interpreted it that way. Of course everyone will comply with local laws or secret government orders that come with threats of imprisonment. I dont know if Proton was required to log this data in the first place, but if they were then this specific situations is not their fault.
The issue with Proton isnt that they follow laws, but that they portray themselves like they are better or more private than others when they are just not. Bigger = worse in the tech world. Whenever too many people are using services of a single company, it becomes an attractive surveillance target.
What im also annoyed about is people being surprised by this and these headlines that make it look like its some sort of betrayal. You should always be worried about your privacy when you put data on a computer that isnt in your physical possession. Proton isnt trustworthy because nobody is trustworthy except yourself.

Im constantly hearing of blown up and burning russian military infrastructure, so yeah…
Also there is no realistic defending against fiber drones, so how does this even make sense?

The americanisation of Europe will continue, resistance is futile.

Oh ffs. We have known for years that Proton is just a for profit company like any other. They dont give a fuck about you or your privacy. They never have and they never will.
I can literally only eat Topaz apples at this point. Any other type will just rot in my house until i throw it away. Best variety out there for people that like a lil sour.

It says “gang rape” in the title. If you dont want to read about gang rape then dont click on a post that says gang rape.
