  • You’re both wrong, but you’re half right. I don’t understand how the ancient forest guy got the upvotes, because he’s completely wrong.

Phytoplankton are microscopic plants that, just like plants that live on land, require access to the sun to survive through the process of photosynthesis (turning sunlight into energy using chlorophyll).

Zooplankton are microscopic animals that feed upon phytoplankton to survive.

These tiny creatures do not have very long lifespans (a few weeks at most), so they are reproducing and dying at a very rapid rate. When these microscopic creatures die, they sink to the floor of the ocean.

Over time, the plankton are buried and mixed underneath layers of sand, silt, and rock. This process has occurred since these creatures evolved over 1 billion years ago and continues to this day…

The dancing robots were definitely programmed like we do with industrial robots for decades.

The robot pouring drinks was controlled remotely. One of the robots even signaled to an investor that it was only a tiny bit of AI to the question. (I’m only judging the gesture, as the voice sounded almost like the questionnaire interpreting the hand signals but the Internet claims it was the operator responding)

  • Reddit was much larger, but it was the same and noticeable when you were active enough.

My rule of thumb was, if 100 people see a post, 10% vote on it, 1% comment on it.

There’s also the fact that most active users that also comment regularly, don’t browse the hot page but catch the posts earlier. So there will always be names that show up more often than others, that have already said what’s going to be said.

On Lemmy there’s a lot of instances that are kind of radical and have a vast interest in spreading their radical ideology in other instances, so they’ll show up as well on a regular depending on the topic.

I gotta admit that I didn’t start noticing regular users yet, only the trolls that I tag.
