My employer insisted we had to change the phone icon because young drivers may have never seen a phone like that. I finally got them to look at their iPhone and say now which icon do you press to make a phone call? Great now if you saw an icon of an iPhone could it also mean playing music? What else could it mean?

This isn’t the first time I’ve heard someone on lemmy claim that, but I will say having spent time on botth sides of the 'verse and I’ve seen more facists on various corners of the ActivityPub based 'verse than in NOSTR.
ATProto and Matrix are both part of the 'verse too, XMPP and Email too.
There are at least two different applications Mostr and momostr that allow communication between nostr and ActivityPub users. For some reason Lemmy doesn’t federated properly between them, and it doesn’t seem a high priority for either side to look into.

That’s great example of how to get the right answer on any forum. Though you’ve found away you don’t need two accounts. Traditionay you need a archive to give an absolutely complete bat shit answer so a thousand users can tell you why you’re wrong.

Elder millennial here, my T.V. often has subtitles on, but that’s because I only speak English but frequently watch content in other languages, namely Hindi, Spanish, Tamil & Telegu, and it’s still on when I do watch something in English.
That being said I turn the English off as soon as I find the remote, and one of the things I least like about visiting my brother is his wife insists on having English subtitles in large font all the time. Particularly annoying when watching something live like hockey.
I can only speak from my experience, but my mom voted Trump, Biden, Trump.
She voted for first Trump because her church told her you can’t vote for Clinton because she’s not a Christian, and she’s always been apprehensive of Women in leadership.
She voted Biden because Trump’s actions clearly showed he wasn’t Christian.
She would have voted for Biden again. She struggled whether Trump or Harris were lesser evil. Too many Harris ads taking about reproductive rights she just couldn’t force herself to vote Harris.
