The prime ministers of Greece, Spain and the United Kingdom sided with Ukraine’s government on Saturday amid fears that Kyiv is being frozen out of peace talks between the Kremlin and US President Donald Trump.

Though Russia launched a full-scale invasion into its neighbor in February 2022, Trump this week appeared to blame Ukraine for starting the conflict. He also labeled Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a “dictator,” and said he didn’t need to be present during peace talks.

Europe’s best bet IMO is to keep Ukraine in the fight so long as they want to continue. This way, Russia can’t even think about attacking elsewhere. With the bought time, Europe also needs to beef up their own defenses.

It saddens me to say as an American, but the USA is no longer a reliable partner. And those American military bases on European soil would make me very nervous. They were historically used to protect Europe but could also be used to conquer, assuming the military backs Trump and attacks if ordered.
