I can agree to this sentiment you feel, with my own cat. I won’t get in to detail about him in this comment, I will just say he died two years ago and I think about him daily, so I understand.
Coming from that particular instance, the fact they would be petty enough to defederate an entire other instance over some minor thing, should not shock you.
