Depends on how you pronounce shire. Americans tend to pronounce it like the hobbit place when it’s more like “shuh”.

The language is called English, not Obesitese
(UK) All three are technically correct, but 1 and 3 are the most commonly used. 1 is casual and the most frequently said (mainly because it has fewer syllables and we humans are lazy).
Edit: Thinking about this more. Phrase 1 is what you would normally use when you desire something that is not shared with others, for example:
“I found this old slice of bread behind the sofa…”
“I want that!”
Or “This week’s jackpot is 1 billion pounds!”
“I WANT THAT!”
Phrase 2 or 3 are normally used when you are expressing a common desire.
“I wish this skyscraper would just fall on top of me so I don’t have to go to work tomorrow” “I want the same”
“I wish Uncle would stop drinking.” “I want this too, but he is very thirsty.”
100%. I don’t want to spend my free time scrolling past the political options of every single fuckhead in the world, these topics achieve nothing but pissing each other off. Block, block and block again.
I still remember the old-school crude internet saying of bygone days: “Arguing on the internet is like completing in the special Olympics; even if you win you’re still retarded”
Yeah, up until about 2 weeks ago I was still using a Pixel 4. It was 5 years old but never felt slow at all.
I do woodworking as a hobby. It doesn’t make money unless you invest in a full workshop and scale up production to the point where it would basically be a second job. Often the material costs alone are as much as it would cost to buy a completed item.
I’d still recommend it as a creative outlet though. There’s something satisfying about seeing that coffee table in the lounge and thinking “yeah I made that!”
Rarely happens though because who the fuck uses Linux?
Sounds like your hardware is fucked more than anything
Yeah social media just adds so much undue mental pressure, especially the non-anonymous ones.
People are constantly seeing perfectly filtered and perfectly arranged photos of influencers apparently enjoying the perfect life and then comparing their own reality and feeling inadequate.
The FOMO pressure to be always available and seek validation via DMs, comments and likes.
The bombardment of political slop and seeing the opinions of every single fucker in the world and a few million bots about some mundane shit is bad for your mood.
Sending and receiving Goatse was just a tiny bit of fun in comparison.
WhatsApp (& mobile internet in general) replaced it for me. It’s no longer a requirement for both my friends and myself to be at our computers at the same time to talk shit to each other.
Don’t give them ideas
Yeah all of my hobbies are ghost towns here. I don’t care about Linux, US politics or Communism so I filtered them out. Now all that’s left is general interest posts and AI generated porn.
Wow that looks like a generic imitation car from a video game or low budget movie that can’t afford to licence real cars.
Also its performance is something else… Power 45 bhp, top speed 78 mph, max range 140 miles, 0-60 19 seconds. Kudos to Dacia, I didn’t know it was even possible to make an electric car that slow.
I only save scummed the Gwent tournament as it’s a one-shot type deal. The rest of the game there was no need as it autosaves frequently and there is basically no consequences to losing a game of Gwent to a rando
Boy that’s a lot of work just to play some old crap from more than 30 years ago

Usually standard graphics at 60fps instead of ray tracing and stuff at 30fps
I always get to the part with nuclear power, then I take a look at the space elevator objective recipes, realise I need to multiply my factory size by about 20 and just nope out
Oops you’ve picked the wrong audience posting that on Lemmy!
UT99 with the Chaos UT mod, playing on DM-Morpheus or CTF-Facing Worlds. We had it so good back then.
