this@sh.itjust.worksto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: Non-violent protests are 2x more likely to succeed and no non-violent movement that has involved more than 3.5% of a population has ever failedEnglish172·20 days agoYour point is so important that I don’t think it can be stressed enough.
Nonviolent protests are more popular in public opinion. Public opinion gets you more people on your side. More people on your side is more power, and when the regime starts cracking down on peaceful protests, it will be easier to get more people to fight than it would be of we advocate for violence from the start.
It doesn’t suck, its just dense.
“Excuse me, I meant the battbattery.”
I’m learning japanese right now, it has a very Lego-like structure for creating words and sentences that allows you to be very specific about things which is pretty cool.
Homophones are waaaaay more common in Japanese than in English though.
actually what you should probably do is make sure your co/co2/other poisonous gas detectors are working.
only if you ask for no ice. if you forget to do that, you get 0.01L of cola and 1.29L of ice.
the pizza, being in an infinite time loop, would eventually mold if it were a normal slice of pizza. probably for the best that he didnt get to eat it…
I self host most of my digital life but I will never host my own email or PW manager for the simple reason that if I screw up either than I could lock myself out of my ENTIRE digital life.
Also, since email is only as private/secure as the weakest user in the conversation, it seems to me like I would get a very minimal privacy gain from doing so, not worth the risk for normal everyday usage IMHO.
If I really need to communicate securely with someone there’s better options out there than email anyways.
A fair point, but it’s better than proton or especially gmail and other traditional email providers. Do you have a better alternative to suggest?
I switched to tutanota for email and mullvad for VPN as soon as they came out as pro-trump.

I guess I spontaneously turn into manure?
I think 3 is the most useful. You can use it to reach things just out of your height range and maybe as a party trick. I’m sure there are other uses for it too, given enough time I could probably think of some other uses too.
Um akshually, that’s a rectification circle.
