And then you have Clair Obscure: Expedition 33, an AA indy gem that goes for what, 50€ ?
80€ games are a symptom of the marketing cancer that plagues modern AAA games. No need for a 1000 person team, what they need is passion for the medium, and a dedicated team that isn’t impeded by executive greed.
Nintendo bets you’ll buy Mario Kart even if it’s $80. Focus bets you won’t buy Roadcraft unless it’s $40.
I’m looking at the picture, and I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about. There’s no $80 or $1 in this image.
I think $80 comes from:
Borderlands
and £1 comes from difference £35.99 - £34.99but yes I agree with you they were not clear
Btw why are we getting more expensive games in EUR and GBP while USA pays less than us? Aren’t they supposed to have the bigger salaries?
Their sticker price doesn’t have tax, ours has the insane VAT rates already included. That doesn’t help. We still get shafted for a lot of consumer goods.
Okay, makes sense, but even then I feel like we pay too much 😵
It been quite some time since I haven’t spent more than 30€ for a game
What kinds of games are they making that cost 71569457046263802294811533723186532165584657342365752577109445058227039255480148842668944867280814080000000000000000000 USD and who is paying for them?
at least actually post it to !unexpectedfactorial@sopuli.xyz if you leave a comment like that…
I love that this exists … !
