• Brazil’s supreme court said Friday that it ordered funds to be moved from Starlink and X bank accounts to pay fines levied against Elon Musk’s social media venture.
  • Following the transfers, the court ordered that the seized bank accounts and assets of X and Starlink be unfrozen, saying there was no longer any need to keep them.
  • The use of X has been suspended in Brazil since late August.

As it should be. Be a dick and not pay your fines the government will garnish your wages, just like the peasants. Billionaire gets no special treatment.

Certain people here really hate Media Bias Fact Checker in particular because they believe it’s biased in favor of neoliberalism.

Their "bias* ratings skew slightly to the left (e.g. in no universe is the AP left-center), and people have complained about positive ratings for pro-Israel news outlets.

As much as I loathe Elon, I don’t think it’s fair to fine SpaceX for something Twitter did. Now if they were fined because they refused to block Twitter that’s different

All ISPs were required to block Twitter/X. Starlink was the only one that didn’t. They didn’t charge SpaceX because it belonged to Musk but because they violated the court order.

If that’s the case the first bullet point is pretty misleading. Don’t see a problem with a fine in that case

Sure, if only look at that one thing and go to zero lengths to understand context.

Things aren’t misleading just because you want every detail spooned to you.

There is nothing in this story that makes it clear that the fines were levied against SpaceX for refusing to block X. That is a lack of context

Owned by the same person. So you hit the same person.

All of it could have been avoided if that same person paid their fines instead of playing the crying rich baby.

He only owns part of both which is why I think it’s messy. Then again if you are shareholder in one of his companies I guess you get what you deserve

I think every cent from that Nazi’s companies should be seized and he should be dropped off somewhere far away from shore.
