He “doesn’t like talking about politics” (with women, because it always leads to him being ghosted).
He doesn’t agree with either side, but admits he likes that Trump tells it like it is.
When Trump was running for president the first time I always said that the “good” thing about him was that he said what he thought and so you always knew what he was thinking, but the bad thing was that everything he thought was insane and terrifying and full of hatred.
and it turns out that his verbal diarrhea of interior monologues are massively influential to a vocal minority of intolerable people
when other nation’s wannabe dictators started quoting him, shit got scary

It’s scary because it turns out a lot of people don’t want a person who is well spoken, or thoughtful in their actions, or able to compromise as their nation’s leader. They want someone who’s loud, says anything that pops into their head, and is willing to act completely and utterly on impulse.
You also have the problem if him not knowing what he’s thinking.
First time being 2016 or 2000? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump_2000_presidential_campaign
Barbie was a woke movie!!!
I mean Barbie was a woke movie…
In the best way a half movie half advertisement could be. It argues against citizen’s United in the first 5 minutes of the movie ffs.

Ladies: before you quit your high paying ad exec job in the city and move in with the handsome charming flannel-wearing Christmas-loving man who runs an adorable small business in your hometown, remember to ask where he was on Jannuary 6👀
For context:
Small Businesses Boycotted After Owners Attend Capitol Riot | Time
Across the country, small business owners who attended the pro-Trump event are facing backlash and in some cases boycotts as their images circulate online. Some of those who didn’t storm the Capitol but simply attended the event or were in Washington D.C. to support Trump are also facing fallout, a sign of a shift in consumer behavior. In an era of ideological polarization and economic hardship, people don’t just care about the products a business provides; they care about the politics behind the business, and thanks to social media, that’s easy to figure out.
“Firms are made up of people, and individuals want to buy from firms or use the product that can represent them,” Pinar Yildirim, an associate professor of marketing at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, tells TIME. “We want to buy from firms that share our values, that represent us, that seem to see a future for this country, for the world, or for ourselves, the way that we do.”
Even some of those who didn’t storm the Capitol but simply attended the event or were in Washington D.C. are also facing fallout. After Donald Rouse, Sr., a Louisiana businessman and retired CEO and co-owner of the grocery chain Rouse’s Markets, was spotted on social media at the rally, there were widespread calls online to boycott the stores bearing his name. Rouse later issued a statement saying he had left before the riots began and condemning the violence. In Chicago, Thien Ly, the general manager of the restaurant Tank Noodle, posted a photo of himself on a plane, as well as a plane ticket to Washington D.C., on social media, leading to a deluge of negative Yelp reviews, calls online to boycott the restaurant, and even a virtual protest. In an interview with NBC Chicago, Ly said that he and his family were in D.C. to show support for Trump but were not near the Capitol building; since the riots, they have received death threats, harassment and intimidation at the restaurant, he said.
Owner of Northside Chicago restaurant Tank Noodle, Thien Ly, took a trip to DC to take part in the riots.
University of Chicago professor of political science Robert Pape has spent the past year gathering information about the insurrectionists and their co-ideologues. According to Pape, 26 percent of the rioters charged were business owners; an additional 28 percent were white-collar workers.
“There are relatively more business owners in the insurrectionist pool than in America,” Pape notes. The composition of those charged with a crime – with 716 individuals studied by Pape thus far – undermines what “we’re used to thinking about far-right violence and extremism.” This was a heavily white-collar riot – a businessperson’s riot – which is in some ways unsurprising because the protest that set it off was fomented, as President Joe Biden just reminded us, by the businessman/president who lost his bid for reelection.
Yeah I am not happy about that. I would never boycott a place just because the owner went to a political protest. It cuts both ways and I have no intention of stopping going to protests for stuff I believe in. You are allowed to be a dumbass and have dumbass opinions and go gather with other dumbasses to tell them. There is a world of difference between the dumbasses at the Mall of America and the ones who went into Capital.
With that said I probably wouldn’t date a girl that went to either
I met a flannel wearing man named Colton. Even though he was in Vermont… I could definitely envision him @ Jan 6 boondoggle.

Is there a way to make Firefox copy links without tracking by default?
I’m asking by default so i don’t havs to always right click and just ctrl + c
Something like this? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/clearurls/
I get it. I don’t like the right-click either. At least a keyboard shortcut would be nice.

How many people does this guy think where on the capitol on January 6th?
How many do you think there were?
More than a great deal by a whole lot.

Where were you on January 6th?
what part of this triggered you?
I’m a white guy with a beard, and a good chunk of Lemmy users are probably white guys with beards. “Ask where he was on January 6th?”
Ikr? I can’t even find the word “beard” in the post.

What?
He’s calling you the n-word for some reason. He’s not brave enough to actually say it though, he has to use a tier-2 dog whistle.
Maybe he means “ikr”, but honestly can’t make anything out of that comment
What in the fuck are you talking about?
Oh the iron E
Where were you on January 6th?!

Ok I’ll bite.
- why do you “hate politics”?
- What does “politics” mean to you?
- Why is “divide” your word choice here? Is division inherently bad, irrespective of cause?
- how do you define racism? Is it different than prejudice?
- are you familiar with the concept of heuristics ?
You ain’t gonna get answers from him. We all know the answers anyways.
The answers are I’m gay
Because people use it as an identity.
Whatever the people that control your life are doing.
Difference and diversity is good, division is bad. Division is you’re either on my side or you’re against me.
Any decisions made based on race.
Of course not, please describe that in intricate detail to me. Please spend at least 15 minutes.
Because people use it as an identity.
Can you expand on this? If someone is gay, walking around holding their husband’s hand, does that do it? What if a man is holding his wife’s hand?
Whatever the people that control your life are doing.
I’m not sure I understand. You said you hate politics, but this was your answer for what politics is. Who are the people? Do you have examples of the things they’re doing? Is it like, needing a driver’s license? Tax rates? Spending tax money on libraries? Making abortion illegal?
Difference and diversity is good, division is bad. Division is you’re either on my side or you’re against me.
Let’s say there’s one faction that says, to use a hot button example, “Gay people should not be allowed to marry” and another that says “Gay people should be allowed to marry.” How is a member of faction 1 supposed to interact with faction 2? They are in fact on opposite sides of an issue. Or to use a more extreme example, “Black people should be allowed to eat indoors” versus “Black people should not be allowed to eat indoors”.
Is the problem there the division itself? Would it be okay for you if everyone agreed, no matter which side, so long as they agree to something?
Any decisions made based on race.
This is a common, colloquial, usage of racism. Sometimes people will focus on the large societal level rather than the individual. Per wikipedia:
Academics commonly define racism not only in terms of individual prejudice, but also in terms of a power structure that protects the interests of the dominant culture and actively discriminates against ethnic minorities.[48][49] From this perspective, while members of ethnic minorities may be prejudiced against members of the dominant culture, they lack the political and economic power to actively oppress them, and they are therefore not practicing “racism”.[2][48][55]
I’m not really equipped to debate this usage, but it may be worth keeping in mind that that’s what some people mean. Thank you for answering.
Of course not, please describe that in intricate detail to me. Please spend at least 15 minutes.
Heuristics are generally a cheaper approach to a problem that isn’t guaranteed to be as accurate. Often this is useful when the expense of a more correct approach costs too much in time or other resources. Stereotypes are a kind of heuristic. They’re not always accurate or kind, but they are faster and cheaper.
Honestly I’m not entirely sure I’m using this concept correctly. But what I was getting at was the experience of “All the previous maga-hats I encountered were hostile, so this one might be, too.” It’s not necessarily accurate, but it’s fast, and sometimes that can save your life. Everyone uses this. Unfortunately, lots of us have bad ones, too.
Hoooly shit. Tl;dr. That’s a 15 minute comment right there.
What’s the point of being here if you’re not going to engage? I’ve been pretty open and honest with you, here.
If you’d like to be that detailed in discussion my pms are open. But I don’t think you are. You can pm me at any point and haven’t. I think you just want to engage in public right think against the wrong think. But you won’t, this will get at least -15 downvotes at least. I’m basking in the narcissism. And people are too narcissistic to realize that.
Inb4 ur a narcissist
Inb4 wut was inb4
Lol what a cowardly reply.
You literally asked for a 15 min comment.
Inb4 it was bait
Inb4 they activated your trap card 🤓
Inb4 any other lame excuse to bail or try to save face
The problem people here have with you is that you are more devoted to order than to justice. You prefer a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice.
You’re the type that constantly says “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can’t agree with your methods of direct action.”
I don’t agree with you, but I agree with your methods of direct action.
How many downvotes?
All of them
Lemme just tune this, gimme a sec 🎻
Love an easy block.
I’m a white guy and I say fuck those terrorists
